so I've been considering buying a new PC that can play gta on ultra on 4k, but as I know, adding more GPUs don't help all that much. 4k is 4096x2160, so what if you can get each GPU (let's say 970) fo run 1 instance of gta, on a border less widow at 1024x540, zoomed in on 1/4 of the game. Then fps sync the 4 widows and line them up. Could this be possible?

Edit: my math is indeed wrong, it is 4x 2048x1080

Possible? Maybe, but you would need to figure it out by yourself, as there is no guides on how to do this and it would be very difficult.

That's kind of how those huge displays in shopping malls and such are implemented. Definitely doable and not at all far off per se. Your problem would be, how to sync the controls to do the same thing in all the instances at the same exact time. I guess that can happen too. But what finally makes it impossible is the random seed. I don't think it's possible to have all the NPCs and other pseudo-randomly acting objects sync in all four instances.

Edit: Oh. You're planning on running one total instance of the game, not one per GPU totaling four? Then my comment is way off the point.

You wouldn't be able to control all 4 instances of gta at the same time without some serious re-writing to your input method.

This would be so difficult, if not impossible. You can never sync all of the AI in the game together.

i7 4790k | GTX 970 | 16GB

That's all you need to know. It's a beast.
