I believe it was approx 1.5-2.0 times the thrust to the weight of the unit, where if it's too high it may be a little hard to control since it would be very touchy.

i know i need 2x the weight of the unit in thrust thats why i said i want 2237.6g of thrust but how do you calculate the thrust given the motor, propeller and battery

There are some calculators out there like theses but the most accurate way to test it is to bench test a single motor and propeller with a load cell to see the thrust.

im not sure how accurate those calculators are because the second one says that one motor will be able to lift my entire quadcopter

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's off  :D

 

They aren't always the most accurate tools out there, the best is to see if you can find some builds that have a similar setup with motors or propellers to give you an idea of the weight their units can lift.
