Good ultra-budget PC for getting into PC building?

If this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113359 is what you were talking about, that's way too expensive.

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-ad785kxbjabox

You can get it for 20$ less

I see it for ~120 USD

Microcenter has it for 110$ but whatever. It's still a better product than the Pentium and comes with an R7 250X iGPU

I'm not caught up on the Pentium, I'm caught up on the price. If I use that A10, it could bring the total price up to ~400 USD with Windows (not doing the softwareswap thingy)

Then get a "free" version of it.... if you're not going to be using the PC for anything but building it, you are wasting more money than you should be. Upgrade your PC, get a GPU, get a better CPU, get an SSD, don't waste 300$ on something you'll end up tossing in the corner to collect dust.....

No, I don't think you're getting my point here.... It is not going to be my main computer, but I am still going to use it... Maybe I could put Ubuntu or some Linuix distro on it, but I don't have any experience with Linux.

I don't need it. I just want to get into PC building and I thought that this would be a good way to start. It would also let me have a second machine, so I am not limited to some of the things on my currentl machine.

So you're wasting money.

If you want to get into PC building don't waste money. Get a good budget and buy a decent rig or upgrade your current rig. Read the manual and you'll be fine. That's literally all it takes, 10 minutes of reading....

Gaming, rendering, doing whatever. The i5 is just a better quality CPU - you need a 8350 using all 8 cores to match an i5's 4 cores. FX are old and decrepit.

According to http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-4460-vs-AMD-FX-6300, the FX is much better for OCing and the i5 is only leaps and bounds better in the single core performance section.

CPUBoss is bullshit. Anyone who trusts it is ignorant.
