windows 7 pro will get you windows 10 pro

and the biggest upside to having windows 10 is direct x 12 support but be aware some games dont play well with windows 10

All versions of Windows starting with Home Premium have the ability to upgrade to Windows 10. You will still be able to do it at no cost just like all other licensed computers. Most games and software are developed for Windows and it gets the most attention due to having most of the market share. As far as performance goes, it doesn't offer any performance increases really.

Nothing gets deleted, everything transfers.
