Gaming CPU needed?

Intel i3 4150 or AMD fx 6300 or AMD athlon x4 860k

I am NOT looking to overclock my CPU. Will be doing casual gaming - gta 5, battle field 4, FIFA 16! Please suggest a cpu which can be upgraded in future.

Most games only utilize one or two cores. Its also hyperthreaded so basically 4.

most games no, you should be fine for some time,

as you said you will upgrade

from those 3 definitely the i3, though i would consider the amd part if it was a oc'ed 8320. Anything less i would go with the i3

Definitively altough you have to tone the settings down a bit in GTA 5.

I do not suggest an Core I 3 because they lack power in my opinion. I would preferably go with a high powered I5 or a low powered I7 to start off. In addition id recommend a 60 dollar GPU. (coming from a guy with a $10,000 Gaming Rig (USD))   B)   I HAVE HYPERLINKED SOME RECOMMENDED PROSERS.

i3 is best for f2p and indie games but is most likely good at AAA titles to! (most games)

 

FX-6300 is in many AAA games best but may struggle at f2p and indies! (can also be OCed and but requires better board)

 

860K best bang for buck but the weakest of the trio! (cheapest and is clearly better than Pentium!)

just get the core i3 it's a better choice and you'll be able to upgrade to an i5 or i7 later without having to replace the motherboard.

That's never really a good strategy, as games use GPU power more than CPU power. Going with a 5960X and a 750 TI will yield lower FPS than a 4790K and a 980 TI.

Wut? CPU and GPU needs to be in a somewhat balance. I wouldn't take an i5 with a GT/R5 series GPU.

Get the i3, although ideally if you have room in your budget, am i5 would yield some improvement.  For your FPS goals and budget though an i3 will work.  Couple AMD owners here like float into these threads and start rambling on about edge cases where more weaker cores is better (since that is what AMD is).  The games you cited aren't the kind that see a major benefit from additional cores.  In additional the AMD CPUs have no upgrade path. You can get a reasonable priced motherboard for your i3 that can also support an i5 or i7 from the same generation if you need a stronger CPU.  Whereas if you go out and buy a top of the line AMD CPU, it/'s already outclassed by an i5.  AMD is releasing a new line of CPUs in 2016, but they'll need different motherboards.  So all the CPUs AMD are selling right now are dead ends.

Thanks for the suggestion! Can you also suggest a respectable motherboard to go with? I am in a budget , and also keeping in mind that pc parts in India are costlier as compared to the US.
