Help reducing static during sound recording/streaming

Go to solution Solved by spwath,

I would try an internal soundcard, or an external DAC with microphone inputs

Hello there.

I've been having this issue for quite a while and now that I've spent yet another 30$ on a new micraphone and it did not solve it - time to ask you guys.

There are plenty of topics out there regarding fixing static issues during recordings, but none have really solved mine.

One thing I did notice, however, was that with the new microphone (which has a separate volume dial), the static persists even when the microphone itself is turned all the way down. Which kinda sucks, because at first I thought it was the mic itself that was causing all of the issues. I went through regular 3.5 and USB headsets trying to find the solution, but at this point it seems it is somewhere deeper.

At this point I am not exactly sure what kind of specifications I can give to help you help me, really.

I am using an Asus m5a97 2.0 with onboard sound for my desktop and whatever the hell comes with an Acer Aspire v3-531g on my laptop. Both have static while recording.

I have also tried switching rooms and reducing anything that might cause interference, including routers, electronics and lighting. I am all out of ideas at this point, so help me if you can. I can provide more information on the rig itself if needed.

Im pretty sure you have done this but have you made sure all the wires are properly connected from the microphone to the computer? It may be some bad ports but it sounds like an interfere issue.

The wires are fine, it seems.

As for the laptop, I cannot really check that out without physically opening her up, but it seems that the laptop is slightly less staticky than the desktop.

Might be a horrible Soundcard. also record with Audacity and remove noise through that works like a charm and a lot of you tubers do that.

This needs to be a realtime solution, sadly.

Audacity is good for removing static, but it is the realtime recording issue that is the....issue.

Is there a onboard audio control panel like realtek hd audio manager? I have an option for noise suppression and that makes even my crappy lavaliere sound fine.

Any entry-level products I could throw my money at, before buying something decent?

I need to know whether or not it would solve my problem before dishing out a hundred bucks over it.
