Laser motion sensor?

I want to set up a laser sensor in my pc room when im finished with it. So that whenever I walk in it greets me or turns on the music. So anyway know of any sensors that I could hook up to a pc ?

Maybe an IR sensor? You could get one of these and do some DIY electronics.

If u're keen on tech, you can assemble it with yourself. This is the cheapest way btw.

You gonna need 1-2 IR sensors (detection loop) and voice synth loop with dynamic (or just a repeater).

But is there anything that can be used as a pinpoint because wont a sensor like that detect a largerpart than a single line

you could put an ir emitter and a receiver in the doorway that will turn it on when you walk in and block the ir light from reaching the receiver.
