GPU Height Problem.

Azade12

Hello, I recently decided to build my on pc and it's going great! The only thing I have left on my checklist is to install my msi gtx 960 OC edition. But, there is one problem, it doesn't fit.One of the sides of the metal brackets doesn't fold and it leaves the card a few centimeters up.Im fairly sure I'm doing something wrong, if you could help me that would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Doesn't look like its lined up correctly. Are you sure you have it plugged in correctly? In your picture, the card doesn't line up with the screw hole on the case. try making sure its plugged it correctly and lined up correctly. Let me remind you though, Im not familiar with the Mach 3 case.

Edit: In your first picture, there is space between the gpu and the back of the case. Im pretty sure that should not be happening.

Agreed. Its hard to see. The screw hole is where you attach a screw and tighten your card to the case. Your case should have it at the back of the case where your card meets the back of the case. Kinda hard to explain. Hopefully this video can help. The video is kinda old but I think it might be helpful.

I tried to remove the little vents at the back of my case like the YouTube video said, but it still doesn't fit.its the bracket pointing outwards. Any ideas? Here is also a video, also , I know I'm supposed to take the protective red pockets out and fit it in with the exposed vents, but I was using my left and and that didn't work either

Just wondering... Have you ever installed a GPU successfully before? In any other computer?

I shortly figured out how to install it in,there was a braket I had to remove. Now, I've fully assembled my PC! But, there is one problem, it's not turning on. Here's what I've done:

Turned off and on power supply

Turned off and on my power spilter

Unplugged and replugged it in a same and different place.

Here is a picture of some remaining wires and the power buttons on my case

The orange one says: "POWER SW"

The green one that is wider says: "HDD LED"

The two smaller ones say:"POWERLED ON" ,and "POWERLED OFF"

The purple one says:RESET PW

I also don't know what the other green cable with 4 plugs in and 4 plugs out is to.

Those wires need to be plugged into the motherboard.

you have to connect your Power Switch and other wires to your motherboard

Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Corsair H105, Gigabyte x570 Aorus Elite, Corsair Vengeance 32GB 3600MHz, EVGA RTX 3070Ti FTW3, Samsung 850 Pro / WD SN850 / OCZ Trion 150

So you didn't connect those remaining wires?

And btw the green cable with 4 pins is a molex cable. Most probably for fans or led lightning in the case

The orange one says: "POWER SW"

This connects your case's power switch to the motherboard. Plug it in and it should work fine.

Somewhere in your motherboard's manual you should find a little diagram that looks like this:

systempanel.jpg

On the board, it looks something like this in the bottom right corner (as you're looking at it in the case):

panel_leitungen.jpg

(These graphics are just examples, probably from a different board. Make sure you follow the instructions for your own board)

Apologies,I did not see the other page, I will try that. But is it usually on the side on the motherboard?

As you look at the board mounted in the case, the front panel connectors are usually located in the bottom right corner.

It's the MSI Z170A Gaming M3 right? MSI's website won't seem to load the manual for some reason, so I can't check myself. You're going to have to look at the diagrams in the manual yourself. Just look in the table of contents, the lingo you're looking for is "front panel connectors." There should also be a board diagram near the front that tells you what everything is.

MSI's done a great job making everything jet black all over the board, and the printed labels are kind of cryptic, so it's tricky to tell where it is just from the photos I'm finding online.
