Cpu amd fx 6300 overlocking

I know they do, I've overclocked my FX-6300, and most of the time 1.35v is as high as you need.

Yeah but it's not way too high as you described. And different chips have different tolerances and properties.

 

 

OP what program are you monitoring CPU frequency with? If it's telling you 5.2GHz I'm assuming you're using task manager. I'd try CPU-Z.

 

What board are you using as well?

 

Disable turbo core and set the CPU to 21x multiplier with 1.375V manual (Static) voltage and high load line calibration (LLC).

So im currently overclocking my cpu to 4.2 ghz and 1.42 voltage and as im streestesting it the cpu seems to jump from 2.8 ghz between 5.2 ghz but the cpu is at max usage through out the test which makes my wonder if i made a mistake or missed something in my bios. Im using a H60 and having about 47 C.

That voltage is way too high, bring it down to like 1.35v and test. Stresstest on  Aida64 or something, Prime95 is bad (not that you said what you're using, just saying). 47º isn't the actual temp.

well i set to cpu voltage control to 1.36  but im computer wouldnt start which it, the normal voltage is 1.4, it says normal in the bios and goes to 1.425 so dont know if im tweeting the wrong voltage or what

 

UPDATE1 47C is the temp because we're talking about celsius and not farenheight, so for you it would be somewhere around 115

 

 

UPDATE2  After  stresstesting the cpu for about 10min i thought it would be fine but after playing d3 for about 20min the computer just shut down and as i was writing this the computer shut down again so this the second time im writing this so i set the ghz to 3.9 to hopyfully stop it from crashing

AMD cpus require much more voltage than Haswell. And Prime95 is perfectly safe for AMD, they don't have the voltage overrun issue that Haswell had.

alright so this are the settings that i was using after i turned off the cpu boost as it was called on this board, i hope. http://imgur.com/Tmct9Ru

But the computer crashed and as i went to the bios again the normal cpu voltage was then set to 1.3 so i set it to 1.36 and for some reason it worked and im currently running with 4.2 ghz (21x) and so far it's fine but i havn't stresstested yet

 

and about the LLC as i saw it there wasn't any way to set it to a number, it was either normal something or extreme

I can back this up, I currently have my 6300 at 1.34v - 4.2Ghz without errors in P95, so unless the chip is a bad overclocker or it's motherboard related then 1.4v is to high. :)

1.425v is standard for FX-8370 so its not to high but it only has 3 modules so that it requires that much is a bit... :S
