Separate Networks with Two Routers?

I'm looking for a way to run two completely separate LANs, but not have them cascading as I would like the second network to have its own port forwarding without having to go into the first. My thought was to put the IP of the second router into the first routers DMZ, would it work that way?

 

Our modem and ISP does support up to 4 separate networks, but the added cost for enabling it and a second static IP is $30/month, so if there is a simple setting that could avoid it I would like to go that route.
