Black spray paint would work

(really but dark plastic thing in front of your monitor).

Can't you manually turn it down? Putting a sheet over your screen seems impractical.

Is it a dark plastic sheet?

Seriously though, just go to the power settings under the hardware section of the control panel and change the settings so that your screen turns off

You have a light sensor that dimms your screen in dark areas because you don't need 100% brightness in a dark room, leave it as is.

ive never seen a laptop that comes with a light sensor

any ways as i said i dimmed the screen to its lowest setting

You can use something called F.lux. I use this and it changes the colour to an "orangey" tint which is much easier on the eyes.

If it is your purpose to make it easier on the eyes in the night..

You could try F.lux

It gives the screen a somewhat yellowish color at night which is really soft on the eyes
