Best $200 GPU?

Go to solution Solved by don_svetlio,

R9 380 - recent benches from Digital Foundry show a stock 380 beating a OCed 960.

Hello mates! I'm looking for a GPU for one of my friends, trying to get him something in the $210 max range (not including like $5 or $10 for shipping)

He was looking at a GTX 960 since they are only $180 from MSi right now on NewEgg with free shipping.

Any better recommendations?

His setup:

CPU - i5-4690k (stock)

GPU - HD 7750 (fan not spinning)

RAM - 8GB 1600Mhz (from a HP PC)

PSU - 500w Rosewill Stallion series.

180$ for a 960 is actually a really good deal however the R9 380 does perform a bit better in certain titles and is better at higher resolutions. If your friend can get the R9 380, go for it.

Saw a R9 290 on eBay, new in box for $220.

Which one would be better for CS:GO preformance? A R9 290 or a 380?

290 all the way bro. But csgo isn't really a hard game to run so any gpu you pick nowadays will give you 60+ fps

Longboarders/ skaters message me!
