We need specs and logs (as mentioned) but I'd like to ask something else too: just how frozen is it?  Is it completely locked up and you have to hit the button?  Can you swap to a terminal session with Control + Alt + F1?  Or is this just a momentary freeze and it then resumes running?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

The computer is on and within a couple minutes of use it freezes and it stops working so I have to unplug the computer and restart it

Really?  That sounds like it goes deeper than Ubuntu then.  Could be some sort of hardware issue if you literally have to unplug the computer; usually hitting the reset button or at the very worst holding the power button will do it.

That does sound very much like a hardware issue.  We would still like to know your specs and see some log files.
