Repos and sources are pretty much the same things. Think of Cydia like a market/store and the repos and sources being the vendors.

repos/sources are basicly by themselves a catalog of software (like the app store) which you can access trough cydia.

 

PS: should mention in case someone isnt up to date, and is gonna shout and scream: jailbreaking is legal, it has been for a long time. you just void your warranty.
