Hi comunity

i recently built a computer , about 4 weeks ago , it was ok until 20 mins ago , it restarted and stated it has a power surge issue and powered off in ordered to prevent any damage. However it keeps restarting ever since then. Can anyone help me ? i am using a V850 coolermaster power supply, asus x79 deluexe , msi 980ti , 4820k i7 processor from intel, 4 x 8gb ddr 3 ripjaw ram.

Please help

When you say its restarting, what do you mean?

Is it boot looping? (as in it posts, load windows logo and then restarts)

it it turning on and then immediately restarting?

Or does it load into windows and then crashes and reboots?

its a mix of boot looping and load window and restart again , sometimes i get it to the desktop page but for like 10 - 5 mins , it will restart again . the error message shown was a power surge thus a restart was made to protect other parts of the computer.

X79 is last gen (enthusiast) are all your parts new, refurb or used?

Have you checked the power strip?

Have you overclocked at all?

have you tried a new PSU?

Check capacitors on the Motherboard?

Had any power issues lately at home? (lightning, power surges etc)

It could be the motherboard has just decided to give up on life

all my parts are new.

How do u check power strip?

overclocked was set to on before the problem , i disabled it and the problem still persist

i only have 1 PSU so i dont have a spare one to try

how do u check the capacitors on the motherboard?

i only notice that whenever i turn on my light in my room , the power to my computer will flicker , e.g. the light of the razer keyboard will flash , disconnecting of usb drives could be heard.
