That is vertices problem making the faces overlap.  You need to move the vertices so that the faces do not go through each other.

When I hide the modifier there is no black spaces.

Can you render out a frame and upload that?

Or go into face edit mode (I use a different 3D program so I don't know the name of it)

I swear it looks like you have poly faces going through each other.

Looking at your texture map again, it looks like several edges aren't filled in, I'd try going back and making sure to fill all the way to the edge (It should be okay to go over the lines. Or at least it is in all the 3D programs I use)
