I wanted to play through fo3 once more on my new rig (win10) before fo4 comes out. I launched the game through my stream account and a compatibility warning popped up. 20-30 mins into playing the screen freezes. This is frustrating as hell! Are there any work around? I found one that you need to pay for, but hey who wants to pay extortion money to play what I already own? Is there help or am I screwed?

I do have games for Windows live, I'm running the game in administrator mode, and I've edited the ini file for using a multi-core CPU? Nothing works. When it does play, it plays fast as hell, then it freezes so hard that only a reboot fixes it. Maybe I need to dust off my 10 year old piece of crap Dell and suffer through? Ahhh!

What Win7 issues? I've never had an issue with Fallout 3 playing under Win7 x64. If there are issues it's probably Bethesda's fault, not Windows'.

It works for you, you don't have a problem which is great. There are others who have a problem. Why? Don't know. My PC is just over a month old, I just isntalled Windows 10 over a week ago. No matter what I do Fallout 3, using Steam, fails. Your lack of a problem unfortunately does not remove ours.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

And I'm telling you it doesn't, for me. So sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've met others with the same issue as me looking for a resolution.

Actually I've spent the last 3hrs working on it, your advice was shit though. So far I'm good after loading the unofficial patch off of the NMM. It was crashing constantly with it loaded on the NMM. Also had the large file mod installed incorrectly, they say to use the EXE file but it's the launcher that it really needs. If I make it through the night I'll update.

aaaand I crashed. That was the longest I've made it though. Almost an hour. So far I have the unofficial patch(latest version) installed in the steam folder, large file mod(desktop), stability mod(NMM), Games for Windows disabler (NMM), Archivelnvalidation Invalidated (NMM), plus some texture packs.

Was doing OK then tried to go into DC. Constantly crashing. Tried walking slow to give it time to load. Tempted to try and run it off the onboard graphics chip. Anyone ever tried that?

If anyone asks you never saw me.
