Crysis not launching

During the first launch install process it asked me to install microsoft.NET framework 1.1 but i accidentally skipped that part and now the game is stuck in a black screen when launched...i did download and install(?) NET framework 1.1 afterwards but nothing really happened. I have verified the game cache, restarted steam multiple times etc. but nothing is really working..any ideas?

You might have to delete the game and download everything again.

I have two questions:

  1. Are we talking about the first Crysis game?
  2. Do you run an AMD FX-series chip?

If so, then I don't think it will work. When I had my FX-6300, the game wouldn't even launch, despite trying various botchings of the directory. I deleted it and resorted to hating on EA for their bullshit. When I switched to Intel and thought to give it another go, it worked without a problem.

Yes the first one and I indeed have a FX-6350...glad we have the steam refunds at least..

Yeah, that pissed me off. If you get an Intel chip, give it another go as I don't seem to have any trouble running it now.

 

EDIT: I meant with a 960/970, ignore the Titan X. xD
