OK, so my dad needs a new laptop for work and I've been trying to find something worth buying for the last couple of days, obviously with no success.

Here's what he needs:

-under 15" (prefers 13-14")

-IPS panel

-1080p

-at least Core i3, Core i5 preferred

-IRIS graphics or weak mobile GPU from Nvidia or AMD (GT 920m, something similar)

-presentable looks (no "gaming"-crap, no fancy badges, red accents or anything)

-needs to be around or under €700 in Germany.

Problem is that this kind of laptop doesn't appear to exist. First problem is the size, options under 15.4" are extremely limited. An then there's the IPS panel, for some moronic reason it appears that 99% of manufacturers remain under the illusion that it's totally OK to put a 15-dollar TN-panel in a €700 notebook.

He had a Lenovo U410 Touch before, that was pretty much the perfect notebook in terms of specs, it had everything he needed. Good screen, i7, GT720m, all that crap. Only problem was the thing started falling apart after a few months, left hinge came loose, screen started separating from the frame, BIOS-controlled fan started going haywire and the touchscreen's digitizer stopped working. You know, all the things you'd expect from your average Lenovo-product.

So now he needs something that has the same specs, but isn't Lenovo. And apparently doesn't exist.

Any advice? Did I miss a potential candidate? Or is there maybe something in 15.4" that weighs under 2kg?
