​Assuming infinitely great internet everywhere, could I not build an amazing machine and connect to it virtually via a shitty laptop and get great performance on the go?

Just a guy who peaked at building back in the days of the GTX 980. If you see me here, assume i have technical knowledge akin to a committed hobbyist builder back then. If something's changed, you'll need to tell me(nicely plz). I'm probably asking for help with the modern build scene since I have no clue what's going on.

No, because with any streaming solution I'm aware of you have to be on the same network. I'm sure there's solutions around that, but those are going to limit the bandwidth and the latency. And that latency is going to be horrible man. No way to game on that.

For good gaming on the go there is, afaik, only high performance laptops, or possibly a really small mini ITX machine with something like that 13" monitor they reviewed a while back. if you're insane.

You could, but you wouldn't really be able to play games through the remote connection, maybe just do work or grab files

 

How much did you want to spend on your laptop?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...
