There is no such thing that is decent enough to be used in my opinion. Although, if you are at least willing to pay for something then astrill is right up in my opinion. It's recomended by both Jaystwocents and Nerdgasim. And its cheaper than a netflix subscription.

I fix computers and computer accessories... sometimes... when I want to...

Hotspot shield? Tunnel bear? All VPNs are shit though that are free. I'd pay for a $7 month of Private Internet Access if I were you. Or you could pay $40 for a year.

I have PIA.

$40 a year. I don't see why anyone with internet couldn't afford to budget that in.

All free VPNs are terrible...dial up speed terrible.  Even paid ones you won't be watching 4K YT videos with.  Testing out PIA, I drop from 350/30 to 4/3 with it on.

I agree with @Archarin, this is not at all what I experience with PIA.

I don't recommend free VPNs. If something like that is free, you are definitely the product. Sorry, but I'm not linking you recommendations on that. "Free" VPNs are basically data mines in a nutshell, as well as just plain shite. Don't use them. If you want to set one up for the hell of it, go set up a Linux server on a cheap VPS hosted by really anyone and learn how to install OpenVPN.

I'll recommend only paid solutions, like PrivateInternetAccess. I use them, I am using them as I write this post on multiple machines. My speed is basically unchanged, as long as I use a server that's logical (basically not located on the moon). It's $40/year for a yearly plan. Anyone can fit that in their budget, even a struggling university student.
