Hi, I bought my pc 6 months ago, it has a gtx 960, i5 4460 and 8gb of ram. 5 Min ago the cord from psu to power surge just burned in the connection to the power surge and power went down in my house. I will wait 1h or more until I check the inside, what should look for, what might have been the cause?

My parents say its too much use 3h a day, 8h on weekend, can it be?I was playing csgo a easy game to run if that helps, and I saw sparkles coming out of the power surge when power went down

Any way to check if its dead or not?

I would seriously take that PSU out and not touch it again. I would NOT risk plugging it in again for fear of it damaging your other components, if it hasnt done so already!

Your PSU is *most likely* dead, get a replacement like this: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-110b20750vr

Don't try turning it on. If it didn't break other components yet, it'll do so if you keep trying. Computer repair joints have testing hardware to see if it's dead. The very least, you should remove it entirely from your setup and try turning it on alone. If it won't blow fuses like that, try shorting pins 15 and 16 in the 24-pin connector and see if that'll do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRhaI4W8d9s NOTE THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS HEALTH HAZARD! I suggest you leave it for the professionals.

Cant find any evga psu on stores near me, any other good brand and model?

XFX, Seasonic, Superflower, Silverstone, corsair (not the cheap ones)

And was it my fault or not

It was not. Unless you opened up the PSU and did stuff inside, it should be the manufacturer's responsibility.
