Currently i have a Kingston 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (copy paste it from Speccy xD). i am planning on upgrading it to a Corsair Vengeance, going to get two 8GB of it.

what will i expect once i move from 798 to 1600?

  1. Speccy's 800mhz = Hardware advertised 1600mhz. It's called "Double Data RAM" for a reason.
  2. Do you even need more than 8gbs? If you really do, sure, but chances are that you don't.

Your current ram is 1600mhz.

DDR stands for Double Data Rate. The 800mhz you read is doubled for 1600mhz.

No difference other than having more ram.
