Overclocking FX-8350 (& GPU)

Hey,

I've never overclocked or done anything like that. I was wondering is it worth doing and do i lose that much life from my PC? I need to keep it for quite a while. Also how would i oc it? And is it worth overclocking my GPU which is an R9 280X (Gigabyte).

What cooler do you have for your CPU? And I wouldn't overclock the 280X unless its watercooled.

There's plenty of over locking guides on YouTube. But first consider when over clocking your going to be generating more heat and power as well as shortening the life span of the CPU & GPU. So your going to need a good CPU cooler. And if you don't have enough power you will have to upgrade your PSU.

 I surely wouldn't do overclocking with a cooler like This....

Doesn't matter .

 

But I must say, that 8350 is probably already running hot with that cooler.

1. You need a aftermarket cooler!

 

2. Try to increase clock speed in BIOS 0.1 each time and test! (DO NOT LET VOLTAGE STAY ON AUTO!)

 

3. When it crashes declock it by 0.1 or increase voltage. (If increasing voltage does not help then give up...)
