Kindly help! G.Skill ripjaws5 2400MHZ ram compatibility with Asus X99 Pro

Hi LinusTechTips members,

I recently purchased (Oct 10 2015) core i7 5820k intel processor, Asus X99 Pro. Initially I was looking for a 16 GB(8X2) dual channel corsair vengeance 2400MHZ or dual channel kingston HyperX 2400MHZ, but ended up purchasing 32 GB(8X4) quad channel G.Skill ripjaws V (F4-2400C15Q-32GVR). The feeling was good until I tried to check its compatibility with Asus x99 Pro and was shocked to find that ripjaws V (2400MHZ) was not in the compatibility list.

 

Now my question is whether I should return the kit and ask for ripjaws 4 or just start using the ripjaws 5 I have purchased even though its not listed for Asus x99Pro. Is there any chance that the compatibility list (GSkill ram configurator on gskill website) is not updated. Should it work by default?

 

The other kits are not easily available at the moment. Only, individual dimms are available.

 

Kindly suggest what should be done.

if its ddr4 its compatible they cant list every ram on the planet that's compatible

should be fine. the voltage is low and the CAS is equal to many others.

yes its DDr4 with timings CL15-15-15-35 with 1.20V operating voltage.
