600W for 970 SLi?

Go to solution Solved by Knaj,

If you don't already have a 970, don't get 970 SLI. get a 980ti

 I've got a B600 PSU from Coolermaster. Would I be able to run 2 of them?

I'd suggest a 750w or greater, I might even say go up to an 800 Watt Power Supply... I'd suggest one from Corsair but make sure that it's rated at least 80+ Bronze rating or higher if you can afford it. Just get the highers Watt Power Supply Unit that has the highest rating that you can afford from your budget and you'll be fine.

not really. at full load the system will pull 440w

with 80% efficiency \heres the formula

440/x = 80/100

cross multiply

80x  = 44000

x = 550w. the absolue min should be 550w

but since power supplies that low dont have the connectors, and arent of a high enough quality to output 440w, you get a 650w or 750w.

12v power wise its fine - Ive run two r9 290s on a PSU with 748w on the 12v rail... with a 4690

my 4690 with a 1.5ghz 980 onyl pulled 350w from the wall.

however you will need a couple of adaptor cables.

600W is cutting it close - once you start raising power target and voltage you are going to break 700W I am pretty certain
