Hi guys,

As most of you probably know, Netflix is probably the worst thing to happen to online gaming in quite a while.

My family recently started watching Netflix and its been making my ping in games really high.

Unfortunately, my router does not have QOS as it is aa specific cable modem router provided by my ISP.

I was wondering, if I buy a router and plug it into my existing modem router and create my own network which only my computer is connected to will this help with my bandwidth issues.

Note, my computer is running off WiFi with a AC1900 card.

Adding a second router with only your PC connected isn't the answer, the second router would be just used as a access point with your modem/router combo still doing all the work.  Does your ping actually improve when you're the only one using the connection?  Can you try going wired and see if that helps?

Does your modem/router have a USB port and are you close to it? If I plug a machine into my cable modems USB, that machine gets priority bandwidth.

If not, you should be able to disable the DHCP service & WiFi in the modem, abd then you could use a router with QoS or port priority.

This is a QoS and cable/copper problem, call up your ISP and see if you can get a faster connection?
