OS upgrade

I recently found out that having a 32 bit OS limits how much RAM i can use. How do i go from a 32 bit OS to a 64 bit? I'm currently running the 32 bit version of windoes 10 Pro.

something else is wrong then to

cause even with a 32bit os it should show more

I guess you can try the 64bit os and see if it fixes it

bad memory?

would the BIOS need to be updated after a year? wouldn't it update automatically? Please forgive the barrage of questions, i'm a novice. This is probably a stupid question, but would ANY DDR3 ram work with any motherboard as long as it's pin count is compatible with the slot?

bios's need to be manually updated

in theory any ddr3 works in any ddr3 slot..but thats not really the case..especially if the ddr3 is way outta spec from 1.5 volt and pc 1600

Also, how do i update the bios?

download the bios file from manufacture of the mb

put it on a usb stick formated to fat32

go into the bios..and find the option that says flashing or updating the bios

Yep. Also your 2.21gb limit might be RAM being shared with your GPU or iGPU
