Hi! i got a i7-2600k sandy bridge and i wanna OC it.

 

i have kraken x41 installed on it so temp wont be problem.

 

What program should i use to stress test it?

 

should i use auto or manual when controlling voltage?

go into the bios, change the CPU Multiplier to 45, change the CPU Core Voltage to 1.30 volts and save. You can use AIDA 64's stress test or Prime 95

Put voltages on manual when OCing.

 

Use Prime 95 / Aida64 / Intel XTU, as well as the programs / games that you normally use. That should give you a great indication on stability.

i just did aida64 queen cpu test. how do i know if i passed?

run it on a loop for a long time till you get an error. or if you don't you're safe. long time as in maybe 1 whole day minimum?

I run my OCs through a few runs of Cinebench before using AIDA64. I have had AIDA64 be fine for 3 hours and Cinebench catch the instability in seconds. Still use at least 8hrs of AIDA64 though.

tho. why is my value mhz at 4099 when underload? when its not under it is 4599mhz
