Hello,

So I'm very new to the PC gaming trend and I am currently saving up money for my very first PC that I am going to build. The problem is that I am only halfway to current goal of $600 dollars and I just wanted to ask for some help. I want to get my pc built by the end of the year.

I currently did some math to see how much I can save for how long, one being $100 for 3 weeks, the other being $75 for 4 weeks. If anyone could help with my math to save a bit more, because those are to my current income.

Thank you for reading and any help will be appreciated.

so whats so important about the end of the year deadline???

my advice..

if your maximum saved budget is $600 then your realistic budget for the rig would be about $450-500. you still need OS and games.

if you can save 300 in 3 weeks yea do it.  why wait if you dont have to. you ll be gaming sooner rather than later.

i would spend to get the essentials--- cpu, mb, gpu, memory

i would try to find, repurpose-- case, keyboard, mouse, psu if it meets required output and is reliable otherwise you ll have to spend for it. as for drive maybe also see if you can repurpose one. but make sure you know its history. dont want it failing if it was abused, damaged, or old.  you can later upgrade to whatever, new drive or ssd.

and if you can save another 300 for another month then you should be able to upgrade the case, keyboard, mouse, drive, and if needed psu.

but you can do it.. if theres a will theres a way. happy gaming

The math part requires more info to think up something valid. And to be fair, there just isn't enough months to start mass saving now (end of year sales what you are waiting?). I use average $250/year just for electronic. Every 2-3 years more when some major upgrade needs to be done. This year so far is about $250 (keyboard, DAC and phone) plus laptop late this year or early next. My situation is better as I have childhood savings, stock bonds and part-time job that pays pretty good.

But to point. To see how much you can save per month (or week), you need to know how much you earn per that period. And how much of that goes to living expenses like rent, food etc. My living costs (rent, food, phone etc.) are €500 per month, most going into rent (free internet, heat, water and electricity). I earn about €650. If I would save from that for something, it would be €50-100 depending on if I know I need something else. Like clothes or travel somewhere. Never save all of the amount you got floating between earnings and living costs.
