Any motherboard is a gaming motherboard if a marketing team wants to say so to increase sales to uneducated gamers.

Well some "Gaming motherboards" seem to have little more features then a standard m5a97r2.0.

the h97m is just as good as the z97 pc mate but for a bit more future proof as @The Official Czex said get the pc mate.The h97m is totally fine though if you don't want to spend the extra money
