Help with processor generation

Hey guys

 

So I want to know if this processor (intel core i3-4150) and this motherboard (Asus h81m-k) are compatible because the motherboard says it is made for a 4th generation intel processor but my problem is that i can't figure out what generation this processor is from. And say that if the cpu isn't from the 4th generation would I still be able to use it with my motherboard  or not ?

Yes. The '4' in 4150 means 4th gen.

 

From now on, you should use pcpartpickler.com to sort out products and see if they're compatible.

yes this should work. if the motherboard has a LGA 1150 socket this CPU will run nicely in it.

I actually tried doing so but it wouldn't find the mobo i had. But thanks for the help.
