I pick Dota 2 because there are no micro transactions so everyone has an equal chance when starting a game, any items you can buy are purely aesthetic, unlike LoL.

I couldn't get into League. I play Dota a lot, about 400 hours put in since spring.

But I hate Dota at the same time. Foreigners who play on US English servers are the worst. They refuse to cooperate, refuse to speak English, and generally just go "you bad noob, reported for noob", etc. And they feed when they don't get their way. The way this happens is they click every language so they get into a game faster. Which is why Russians are in US servers too.

Lack of surrender option is also quite annoying.

Also, you can play all the heroes compared to League.

I like Dota more because its more competitive and complex. And I also love the characters interact with each other. Like they will little bits of conversation based on who is talking to who. I also find it generally more exiting then LoL

Is it true that League of Legends is easier than DOTA?

the mechanics are generally more complex.

I just couldn't get into Dota and most of my friends play LoL.

Is it true that League of Legends is easier than DOTA?

In a sense yes. But both games has its advantages and disadvantages.

Idk but i would be glad to try out

I wouldn't mind putting together a team. I already play with a bunch of people from another forum I go to. Maybe we can mix them together or just make a second one.

I play semi carry, carry, or hard carry. I can play support if need be, but I'm generally awful. Phantom Assassin and Faceless are my best characters. As is Meepo.

Dota2, I just like how it plays, also there is more to worry about in Dota and I like that, I won't claim that LoL is too easy for me, because its not, and honestly If i like a game I'll play it, i don't give a toss about how easy it is compared to other games.

Finally, I dont know if people care about that kind of stuff, but I don't like LoL's looks and style, its too stylized and cartoony for me. (not saying im too good/old/whatever for cartoons or stylized looks)

Neither.

Not a big MOBA fan. From what I've heard of DotA, people take the game far too seriously and have pipes up their asses about winning. Sadly, I'd imagine it's a result of the reward system which may be designed around winning (haven't really looked into it). PvP games should be designed to reward effort regardless of Win/Lose with an additional bonus for winning.

I too prefer neither, i also agree with rashdanml i've noticed how a large number of people i've come across take the game way to seriously, swearing and insulting each other whether it be teammates or the opposing team.

I'm not a big MOBA fan either, mainly because of the overly competitive nature of their communities just ruining it for me. That doesn't mean to say i dislike competition, but i believe there's a point where there's a good friendly amount of competition and an excessive amount. Ultimately it does depend on the people you're matched up with but i feel a large portion are people that do take the game too seriously.

Yeah I kinda agree

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

I think really the focus of MOBA games should be the teamwork and working as a team rather than winning the match/round, that could be just like a bonus. But its not easy to find a satisfying way to reward good teamwork compared to winning a game in MOBA type games. Games where there isn't an opposing team its a lot easier to encourage and reward teamwork like Payday 2 or Monaco. Both of those games require teamwork to succesfully complete missions/tasks and i know in Monaco you can't complete a level if you leave someone behind because they're dead or something.
