Hi guys.

My bro is building a pc and is using NVIDIA for his gpu. EVGA ACX 2.0 GTX 980 to be exact. He's using a 4790k with the hyper 103 as his CPU cooler. My only question is should he use more than 2 fans? Obviously it would be nice to have 3 or 4 fans but is 2 fans ok?? Its not like he's using an AMD card which supposedly run very hot.

Suggestions/opinions??

One for exhaust and one for intake should be fine. Everything might be a little warm under load but it shouldn't be a problem.

As long as the airflow is controlled and you don't two fans competing causing dead spots where hot air pools, the increased airflow throughput is never usually a negative.

Check the temperatures, if everything runs nice and cool without too much noise then it's all good. He may wish to add more fans and have them all run at a lower RPM if he wants a quieter rig with more cooling headroom. But honestly it's entirely dependent on his current temperatures.
