CPU and RAM help?

Ok well I got the MSI Z97 MPOWER Max AC LGA 1150 Motherboard and now I need to get a CPU, so I was thinking about the Intel Core i7-4770K Quad-Core Desktop Processor, and for the RAM I was going to get Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3-2400. So I went to pcpartpicker.com and I put these parts in and the website gave me a compatibility issue that says "The Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3-2400 Memory operating voltage of 1.65V exceeds the Intel Haswell CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum."

 

What exactly does this mean?

And if I was to do this would it damage anything?

 

Also if my research is correct this processor is supposed to be one of the best ones that fit this motherboards socket. So why is it that the motherboards specifications says that it can handle up to ddr3 3200mhz RAM but one of the best processors wouldn't be able to handle it? Because I've looked at other RAM and it seems that any RAM that hits 2000mhz or more is 1.65V. I really don't understand it....

 

And if I was to get 1600mhz RAM could it overclock like faster RAM would?

Get 1600Mhz or 1866Mhz Ram

People overclock their RAM with added voltage but like with most things and overclocking.

Its gonna add wear and tear and on RAM its more complicated than say overclocking gpu or cpu.

 

So if you install that module, it will either add wear and tear OR it will downclock and you just wasted $$$.

 

Just get a 1600mhz or 1866mhz kit like @Comic_Sans_MS said.

why dont you pick the i7 4790k it fits this socket perfectly too and is more powerful           i7 4790k has the same price on intel ark so why dont take it

IMO ddr3 1600/1866 should work fine too

if you dont use your integrated graphics you wont get much bonus out of the ddr3 2400..... or am i wrong?

The 4770K is pretty much obsolete because of the Devil Canyon's equivalent, the 4790K (it's just a 4770K but better really). And the voltages really don't matter, but similarly the MejaHertz really don't affect performance, so if the 1600MHz variant is cheaper, than it gets the suggestion. 

 

Overclocking RAM really won't push you over 1.4v for really any goal in clock speed, if you're going over that than there's a degradation problem on your hands.

Alright I think I will go with 1600mhz or 1866mhz RAM I was just confused thinking I would have to get super high speed RAM to benefit from the overclock.. lol i'm a noob at over clocking.. and also I didn't get why the motherboard could take such high MHz RAM and have a CPU Socket type that didn't have a Processor that could handle such high MHz of RAM

Just get a i5 + 8GBs of 1600MHz CL9 RAM (any brand!)
