How is this even possible?

From my knowledge this is a lie http://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-43UF6400-43-Inch-Ultra/dp/B010Q8ES4O/ref=sr_1_4?s=tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1443701325&sr=1-4&keywords=4k+tv&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_three_browse-bin%3A7688788011%2Cp_n_feature_six_browse-bin%3A2807397011%7C2807398011

there is no way its 4k 120hz without displayport. Is this 1080p 120hz only and caps at 60hz? or is it the nonsense where they double up frames to make it seem like a higher refresh rate. I ask this because I want to get a tv as a monitor, but I also want a high refresh rate. I was thinking about down scaling it to 1440p but would that still be capped at 60hz? I would just get a monitor but no 1440p monitors are that big, plus I need component/hdmi ports for my consoles and I rather not have two displays just for consoles.

Note the "effective" refresh rate. It is not actually 120Hz, but some post processing can make images seem smoother (120Hz). It works for TV and movies sometimes, but the feature would be unbearable for games, as it introduces a lot of processing delays.

EDIT: 4K 120Hz does not exist, at least, not in any consumer platform with a connector to drive it. If you're wanting high refresh rates, go for 1440P 144Hz. Running 4K 120Hz isn't really viable with current hardware anyway. Also, if you look at some TVs, they will quote a 600Hz effective refresh rate, which is ultimately BS and is made using a lot of post processing, while the actual panel is only refreshing at 60Hz. Also, as they're TVs, they are designed for content that is generally displayed at 24/25 FPS, and 60FPS at the most, so even having a real refresh rate of 120Hz wouldn't make sense, as the content they are designed for doesn't get close to utilising it.

It's 60Hz doubled. Every TV does this. That is why most of them have insane input lag.

Ah ok, i dont own Netflix. Maybe i should give it a try. But 43" would still be too small. I would not buy anything below 55".

I have 55" 200hz HDTV and believe me, you get used to it far too quick :(

the consoles I would be using this for would be a wii u and a n64, the point of this was just so I could also have something I could connect those two. I'm more concerned on the fact if I downscale the tv to 1440p I'll get a true 60+ experience and not this post processing bs. I'm not saying the consoles will run this resolution, thats asinine. Either way I'd still be getting a tv for my monitor but if I'm not getting 60+ when downscaling I'll just buy a 60hz one and not worry about anything else. (if you want to know what I want the tv its because its large, monitors barley touch 30in I dont give a damn about input lag because I dont play online anyways <3)

@Praesi 43 is fine because if I got anything larger it would be too big with how close it would be
