how do i convert 3DS japan to 3DS US? please help.

You mean change the language? Or remove the region lock?

 

The language should be able to be changed in settings..

 

But the region block, there is no official way of doing this, but you can install the homebrew software to bypass the region lock.

Giancarloparimango or whatever on YouTube had a video on it recently.

buy a new one or test your luck with homebrew and hope you have the right game/3ds system version (and dont brick it entirely)
