So im planning on getting a gaming keypad.  At first i was going to get the razer tartarus, but i saw a razer nostromo on amazon for $500 and am now in search of one that cheaper.  My two questions are 1. can someone please help me search for a razor nostromo (not used) for under $500 CDN (if you dont find one in 5 mins, just stop.  I dont want people searching all day for an item that might be too expensive for me)  2.  Tell if the razer tartus is good or not.  (game i would play are arma 3, fallout 4, etc.  Not csgo or dota type games).

Remember:  If you dont find it in 5 mins dont worry.  I dont want people to look for it any longer.

Any help would be appreciated.

No one really uses keypads lol.

The tartus seems fine to me. I don't think people would spend 500 CAD on a keypad. Probably not even on a keyboard.

Ever consider mechanical keyboards?

(Don't worry only took me 3 minutes. :P)

Quote my post if you need me to respond.

I was told they are great.  And personally, i think it would be nice since im on console and would rather not need to guess or look where a certain key is when i want to press it.

I dont know much of mechanical keyboards but i hear ALOT about them.  I might get one if the keys are not hard to press.  (just because i hate it when you press a key and its an effort to do it, and sometimes it wont work). [im not that lazy or weak to press a key, i just dont need gaming to make me un-focus to push a key].

Sorry for delay, typing with an xbox controller.

I own both the Nostromo and the Orbweaver (one was a gift) - these are the only category where Razer release products I can actually recommend.

Bear in mind I have the 2013 Orbweaver with Cherry MX Blues - this model is absolutely badass and I enjoy using it. However I played mostly MMO type games at the time I bought it. You can still find this version for sale on places like Amazon, be sure to check the manufacture/release date.

The 2014 and Chroma editions 'feature' Razer switches (Kailh) and are utter bollocks, and yes I can tell the difference blind. (Avoid them unless you absolutely have no choice).

I personally wouldn't bother with the Tartarus, but if budget constrictions were in place I prefer the Nostromo - it's lighter and more compact. Unfortunately for the Nostromo software support (firmware) is more likely to be phased out for it - since it's older.

You also need to consider the shape and fit - try one out somewhere if you can, like mice these things may be comfortable for one person and agonising torture to another.

The tartarus is $50 atm so i may just get it to try out, however, i do have small hands which is a thing to consider.  The nostromo looks awesome and i hear great reviews on it.  For the firmware issue, i dont think it would be a problem.  Now, if i can find only find a new one for $100-$150, im set.

Thank You for the advise and tips.
