So I have a current events quiz coming up. We have one every two weeks, and from the first two it seems that primarily U.S. or global news is covered. Not sports or weather type stuff, but the pope's visit might be on there. So please dump any significant news stories as you see them in the thread below anytime you see them.

 

I'll keep a list of news for each two weeks ranked in the order that I think they're likely to appear (basically order of importance, but I don't really want to judge that) in a spoiler and an archive in case anyone else needs them. Thanks to anyone who posts! (Unless you post about porn)

 

And before you post, I do know there's a news section, but it's mostly focused on tech and I need politics or forest fires.

 

 

All of history up until September 30

  1. Syrian refugees are fleeing the civil war. Germany has been great in accommodating them. Hungary built a really big fence. They beat Trump to it. Britain kinda sucked at taking refugees (sorry Brits, you collectively suck) and Obama was also criticised for not taking enough in.
  2. NASA found that there had been water on Mars. Until the rover got thirsty.

Tip to those that are new on LTT forum- quote a post so that the person you are quoting gets a notification, otherwise they'll have no idea that you did. You can also use a tag such as @Ryoutarou97 (replace my username with anyone's. You should get a dropdown after you type the "@")to send a notification, but quoting is preferable.

 

Feel free to PM me about absolutely anything be it tech, math, literature, etc. I'll try my best to help. I'm currently looking for a cheap used build for around $25 to set up as a home server if anyone is selling.

 

If you are a native speaker please use proper English if you can. Punctuation, capitalization, and spelling are as important to making your message readable as proper night theme formatting is.

 

My build is fully operational, but won't be posted until after I get a GPU in it and the case arted up.

I recommend downloading Flipboard and flipping through some articles. You can find a lot of current issues/reports there w/ valid sources.

 

Anyway - you can talk about the refugee issue in Europe as well as international issues in the middle east (specifically Syria)

Well, I live in the U.S., so pretty much all political questions cover politics here.
