I believe that you will need more RAM if you have an APU as the APU uses the DDR3 RAM for its RAM... if that makes any sense.

 

Basically, APU = More RAM needed

gtx 650 would out perform an apu however the new richland apu's are very good on a budget and would probably out perform an old gpu like a 460 or something.

how does a gtx 650 stack up against the 6600k apu 8750 graphics

 

GTX 650 would out perform the APU Onboard GPU by a significant margin.

Not necessarily. I'm sure that the Onboard GPU on the richland would outperform a 610.
