Help with SSDs and HDDs.

So for my new build I am looking in to installing the OS and a few favorite games on to an 250 GB SSD, and using a 1 TB WD HDD for mass storage. How would it work installing somethings such as the OS which would most likely come on a USB Drive to one storage device and the rest of my things on the other. Also, how would I both connect those to my parts. All help is appreciated, thanks.
