Metro: Last Light Framerate

Go to solution Solved by MblaZe7run,

If you even have the option, disable 'Advanced PhysX'. It's not in the graphics menu, it's somewhere else that I forget the name of, but it's there in the options menu somewhere.

Turn off the advanced physx thing in the settings that tends to fix the frame rate issue.

Turn off any setting you don't recognize like advanced PhysX

put tesslation and textures on highest setting and AF at max. and ssaa on auto (itll be set to 1 which is what you want. It works a lot like the 100% to 200% resolution in bf4 and MOH warefighter which esentially is just drs but in game kinda. x1 woul;d be 100% aka 1080p your native resolution.) should be able to handle all of that.

Disabling PhysX worked :D Put a cap at 60fps and it's staying there no problem now, thanks a lot guys! Buddy said the game is great, so I got to bear the terrible download speeds on campus to install it.

Much appreciated

Just wondering if a whopping 9fps is common for this game with my setup. I turned things down from Very High, 16x AA 16x AF, and V-sync to normal, 4x AA 4x AF, and no V-sync and was still getting the same framerate (and lots of tearing due to no V-sync). I did notice the game is Nvidia optimized, but I wouldn't think having an AMD card would be effected that bad. Running at 1080p on Windows 10 (which could be the issue there..). Input would be greatly appreciated!

turn ssaa to x1 not x4. No wonder why your fps tanks lol takes more then a 290x to do that.ssaa at 4x is downsampling from a higher resolution to your lower 1080p res if im correct in how it works. Its like running it in 4k dsr.

Yeah tell me about it nothing short of 2 or more 290x's or titan blacks or better will do that. certainly not with one gpu below the power equal to two or more of those cards.

No idea how - I just opened it - set filtering to 4x since I don't see the slightest difference - ran - 60 fps - no drops.

Woops, not AA... that's off. I've got AF set to 4x, only other optiont here is 16x. Going to try disabling that advance PhysX setting now.
