Sager or Rig?

I've asked several questions such as this before. Sager has recently refreshed their line up with Skylake processors, and seem very inciting, as you get a nice package for a reasonable price. But should I rather build a rig, and carry around a cheap laptop for school? Many thanks.

That's sorta what I do. I have my gaming rig at the house and I just use my Surface for school.

 

Only reason I have a Surface over my M14X now is because I don't play PC games on the go anymore.

I would probably just build the rig and have the shitty laptop for 3 reasons:

1. you can upgrade your gpu in the future

2. that shitty laptop will proabably have better battery life 

3. you won't have temp issues

rig, use the cheapo laptop as a thin client to your desktop

I'd build the rig and go with the cheap laptop

 

As far as $ vs performance goes, laptops are very expensive

 

Desktop can be upgraded in the future also, laptop typically can't except for ram, ssd's, etc.

 

And you get to have fun building your own rig!

But me friends like the LAN....as a student I'm never home, but I appreciate the rig building brainwash.
