Bass vs Balance

So I was looking for a pair of headphones and most people recommened the XB-500s. Now I am think that whether a more bassy headphones would be than a more balanced pair. I'm going to be listening to Dubstep and maybe getting in to some other genres. My budget is about 100 CAD

I would perfer balanced sound, and i recommend Asus vulcans.

I don't really need a mic most probably going to get a desktop mic. And yes I can see it.

I've been tempted to get the sony XB's but deep down I know I won't like them that much even though I love bass. 

 

I do love my audio technica solid bass headphones though. the ath-ws55 ws77 or the ws99 its punchy bass that doesn't really sacrifice the mids

I would and I wish I would have held off on buying the ws55 in favor of a ws77 or 99 but a deal came up and I had to act. 

 

I wouldn't have them as my primary headphone though they're great but a very light design I wonder how the more expensive models are in terms of build. I thnk emorarity has the ws77 ask him what he thinks of the ws77

Are there any other headphones that are balanced and still have bass that are about a 100 CAD?

Don't they always say you want a "V" shaped frequency response for dubstep?  I'd say the Beyerdynamic DT990pro is my favorite in that category.  I guess it does accentuate the "extremes" a bit, which is what dubstep is all about, right?

 

I prefer the ambiance and trance myself...

Well I don't really know much about that. To me any type of music is all about hearing all of it. That's why I buy beats. It's on the box. :P  I actually have beats but they are counterfeits from Thailand. They do well for about 50 dollars.  :P
