Good PSU?

Firearm2112

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a PSU under 100 dollars to replace my CX600m. I know the CX series is shit, and I bought it to last me about half a year, but the thing is 3 weeks old and already dying...

Anyways would the following be a good choice? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438026&cm_re=evga_650w-_-17-438-026-_-Product

If not, could you recommend something around the same wattage? I got a 4790k and a GTX 980

Thanks!

 eGPU Setup: Macbook Pro 13" 16GB DDR3 RAM, 512GB SSD, i5 3210M, GTX 980 eGPU

That's not a very good PSU. The EVGA B2 and GS and G2 are much better value as is the Seasonic S12 and Antec High Current Gamer.

Great PSU but the if any of the PSUs I mentioned will save you money then don't hesitate to buy said PSU. They're all quite sturdy and quiet.

I just need something that's 650ish watts and won't explode like my cx600m...

thanks for the recommendations

Don't forget, if it's the system with the 4790k and 980 on your signature it will rarely consume more than 300W so don't fret that wattage too much.

It is. I do plan on adding a second 980 in the future, and possibly a water cooler.

750W would be a perfect amount for that.

Oh for a future 980 SLI? :D.

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220g20750xr - Default choice really. even PCpartpicker lists it at 102$, the warranty on it is definately worth that little extra. plus it's the Ever solid G2 line so it should give you reliable power

There is this however

other options however (due to ethier availability shortages, as EVGA availability issues have happened in the past to some people)
