Can you upgrade to osx el Capitan after updating ssd?

Hello to all. I have a macbook pro 2012 non retina and I was just wondering whether I should upgrade to an ssd from a hard drive while I am using Yosemite because more support is available for it online. I want to do a fresh install. Or, should I just wait for osx el Capitan and then upgrade my ssd? Also, will there be any conference if I switch to an ssd and then update to osx el Capitan? Thanks.

If you can upgrade now do so, why wait.

You can do a fresh install to something like Mavericks or few os's older version from the recovery and after it update it from the app store.

Or just copy it someway to the ssd and upgrade to El capitan when you are ready.
