.. could you more so explain what you mean by "locking a port"?

what exactly are you trying to block by this?

either lock the camera better, or remove the portforward in your router when you dont need it externally.

(or if you know which addresses will be accessing it, you can create a whitelist)

if you really want to be secure you could do it strictly via ssh tunneling, but forwarding ssh to the outside world is an entirely new form of insecurity.

(if you do, dont do it on the default port, theres an insane amount of attacks on that port...)

It would help to know what kind of setup we are talking about. Is this an IP enabled webcam, or a regular webcam hooked up to a server of some sorts?

this is a regular ip webcamera

on my home network

raspberry pi camera with a webpage that says

pi cam demonstartion

*video stream here*

so there is no way i can code a lock so only i can log in?

TCP port numbers range from 1 to 65 535.

If you have a server machine, Raspberry Pi, or similar on your network, you can forward the port there instead, and set up a reverse proxy with password protection. Nginx has good facilities for this.
