I'm currently planning overhaul to my current battlestation that might include going to a 34 inch 1440p Ultrawide.I predominately do productivity type things, but I do like to game a little in my spare time. When I do game I typically play BF4 or GTAV and I don't typically pay that much attention to frame rates as long as it's playable. Currently I'm running an HD7950 and a 27in 1440p display and things are moving along ok, but not great by any means.

Long story short, a 980ti is in the budget, but it's a little hard to justify dropping that kind of coin when I just plain don't have time to game, but for an hour or two a week. Currently my rig is in a BitFenix Prodigy, but I'm sorta super in love with the NCase M1 so I might be migrating my build.

Is anyone out there using a more modest 390x or 970 and playing modern games on a 1440p Ultrawide? What kind of performance are you getting? Do they look alright in games if you drop the res down to 2560x1080?

I have a 980 and a 29inch LG 2560x1080, always had pretty amazing fps, so I'd expect you'd be 60 fps with medium/high on most settings.
