CS:GO - model/texture setting causing issues

Yesterday i did a clean install of windows 10, now after downloading cs go again im having some issues. The game runs perfectly on low "model/texture" setting but as soon as i bring it up to medium or high the game crashes to desktop.

On med/high i can get into the menu but the game crashes when i start a new match and the map is done loading. One time i managed to load in on medium settings but some skins were missing (invisible guns) and the game froze a few rounds in.

After each crash  the "verify integrity of game cache" fix comes up with a "1 file failed to validate and will be required" message but that doesnt fix anything since the game will crash on the next try. I have also tried reinstalling the game.

Now its possible that i had the game previously always on low when i was on win 8.1 so i cant say that its win 10 at fault. Either way its bothering me now that i know of it even tho there isnt that much difference between highest and lowest model/texture setting.

My specs

i5 4690

r9 280x (changing clocks has no effect)

game is installed on a 840 evo

no other in game settings seem to have any effect

 

If anyone has any experience with this or any suggestions id love to hear your thoughts.

try to ReDL the Game

As stated in the OP, reinstalling the game did nothing.

 

Drivers up to date?

Under Software Update tab in AMD CC pressing the "Check for updates now..." button gives me a "The current version is up to date" message.

Other drivers i should check?

I'm not sure how AMD CC works but is sound like that covers your graphics card, maybe check to see of Mobo and Bios drivers are up to date? Can't imagine that would help massively but it's always go to have everything up to date.

and we will live such tragedy in perpetuity.

nah I've been getting FPS drops with this new update too. Maybe just the new update, its got heaps of bugs. I go from 150fps to 30 in dm, but 5v5 comp its not that bad.

CSGO update destroyed game and also you are trying to run a game on windows 10. It doesn't work
