The Ultimate CSGO RIG

Mikjul

CSGO, not demanding at all.

Keeping it up above 120FPS? different story, even my Skylake rig drops below the 200FPS mark at times (post recent patch), and in game the difference can be felt, not nearly as bad as dropping below 100 frames, but it is there.

This computer does not have to be expensive at all, in fact this is based on cost effectiveness.

I will use PCPartPicker USA as UK people are a smaller audience here, of course you can simply switch to UK in the actual build on PCPartPicker.

Unfortunately a dual core is really becoming hard to recommend, so going Pentium is a BIG no no. and AMD does not provide the special sauce to keep a GPU hopping out 200FPS... even my old i5 760 could not do that with the R9 390.

Skylake will not be recommended here as it does rely on a decent board to OC your chip, VRM's have gone back to the motherboard, and MSI have some real strange choice designs with their lower end boards on Z170...

Quiet and highly usable.

An AMD version, but expect to pay more for other parts due to the CPU needing to be OC'd quite massively.

If it's only for csgo the g3258 would be perfect actually. Only if streaming would you need a quad core

G3258 @ 4.5 | 8GB Team Vulcan RAM | 128GB Kingston V300 SSD (I didn't know what I was doing when I bought it) | MSI H81I Motherboard | Corsair H55 with Noctua NF-P12 | EVGA SSC GTX 960 4GB | OCZ 550W Fully Modular PSU with Noctua NF-A14 | Cooler Master Elite 130 (Soon to be something cool)

Yeah but not everyone plays CSGO only, i tried to keep it usable for other things too, straight CSGO? no problem with a Pentium anni edition.

I hate seeing when people post anything 144Hz. Unless you overclocked your monitor, you're not helping yourself any. Your monitor is 60Hz? Build a machine that RARELY dips below 60. 120Hz? Build one that RARELY dips below 120. Same for 144Hz. Just because I can pull 400fps in Minecraft, doesn't mean I'm seeing all 400 frames. With my monitors, I'm missing abut 340 of those frames. It's wasted performance.

The Source engine behaves very differently at different framerates, the engine is very sluggish below 100 FPS, whereas above that it becomes smoother and smoother, even on a 60hz panel you will notice this.
